Recognised Investment Exchange (RIE)

A Recognised Investment Exchange (RIE) is a securities market which has been recognised as meeting the requirements stipulated by the city's top regulator, the Financial Services Authority, or FSA.

To qualify, the exchange must, among other things, demonstrate sufficient financial resources to perform its functions, ensure that its rules offer proper protection for investors, make sure sufficient information is made public about the securities it trades and keep adequate records of trading.
