Perk

A perquisite (perk) is something gained by an employee in a particular job which is in addition to the basic salary or wage for the job.

These extra goodies form part of the remuneration package. Perks are referred to by the taxman and accountants as 'benefits in kind'.

They may take the form of a financial benefit such as a company car, luncheon vouchers or a low (or zero) interest rate loans to assist in the purchase of travel season tickets.

Some tax perks associated with your job should escape tax.
